Introduction

Most network devices and programs ship with so-called MIB files to describe the parameters and meanings (i.e.: friendly names) which are available for monitoring via SNMP.
ActiveXperts Network Monitor 2024 can import vendor-specific MIB files, so it can be used to monitor specific OID's (Object Identifiers). This way, you can monitor your devices, computers, etc. by selecting your relevant OID's by name.

ActiveXperts Network Monitor 2024 can import MIB file CISCO-ITP-SCCP-MIB and use it to monitor vendor specific OID's.

When a packet with GTA is received, it may need global title translation depending on Translation Type (TT), Numbering Plan (NP), Network Address Indicator (NAI) and Global Title Indicator (GTI) present in the packet. To perform the translation a selector (cItpSccpGttSelTable) corresponding to TT, NP, NAI and GTI is used. The selector also specifies prefix conversion of the GTA before (pre) performing the global title translation or after (post) performing the global title translation. A selector can specify any or both (pre and post) prefix conversion tables. The prefix conversion involves matching of GTA digits in the cItpSccpGttPrefInAddr and then replacing those digits with the digits in cItpSccpGttPrefOutAddr.

The MIB for Signaling Connection Control Part(SCCP) messages transported over Signalling System No. 7 (SS7) Network via Cisco IP Transfer Point. This MIB for provides information specified in ITU Q752 Monitoring and Measurements for Signalling System No. 7(SS7) Network. The Cisco IP Transfer Point (ITP) is a hardware and software solution that transports SS7 traffic using IP. Each ITP node provides function similar to SS7 signaling point. The relevant ITU documents describing this technology is the ITU Q series, including ITU Q.700: Introduction to CCITT Signalling System No. 7 and ITU Q.701 Functional description of the message transfer part (MTP) of Signalling System No. 7. The IETF Working Group Signaling Transport (SIGTRAN) has defined MTP3 User Adaptation (M3UA) and SCCP User Adaptation (SUA) protocols.
